Q. What is the More Than a Game Campaign?
The More Than a Game campaign is Canisius University's annual crowdfunding campaign for athletics, which aims to inspire the entire Canisius community to come together, show their pride, and support the next generation of Golden Griffins! This special virtual event shines a spotlight on giving at Canisius and creates energy and pride around community philanthropy.
Q. When does the More Than a Game Campaign run?
The More Than a Game campaign for Canisius University athletics will run from Wednesday, October 11, 2023 until Thursday, November 30, 2023.
Q. Is there a minimum or maximum donation I can make to the More Than a Game campaign?
Gifts of all sizes are encouraged! The gifts of many come together to make an incredible difference for the next generation of Golden Griffins. The minimum online gift amount is $5.
Q. Can I participate if I did not graduate from Canisius?
Yes! Students, parents, faculty/staff and friends are encouraged to support the More Than a Game campaign. When prompted in the donation form, you select the role you most closely affiliate with.
Q. Where does my More Than a Game campaign gift go?
You can designate your gift to the athletic team(s) of your choice. You can also select the Blue & Gold fund which is the unrestricted fund for athletics.
Q. Can I send a gift by mail or phone?
Yes. Gifts can be mailed to: Advancement, Canisius University, Department 177, PO Box 8000, Buffalo, NY 14240-9920. If you would like to make a gift by phone please call (716) 888-2712.
Q. Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes, your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will receive an email confirmation that may serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
Q. What if I already made a gift to Canisius this year?
Thank you for being part of the amazing Canisius University donor family! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift during the More Than a Game campaign to help our athletics teams reach their goals.
Q. How will the donation be reported on my credit card?
Gifts made to the More Than a Game campaign will appear on donors' credit cards as Canisius University.
